Legend of Appleseed John

(11 5/8" x 9 7/8")

More than two hundred years ago
A gentle man roamed this land.
An apple branch was a walking stick
And a Bible was always at hand.

His pack was so full of apple seeds
His cooking pot rode on his head
With clothes torn and boots worn,
"A strange man" many said.

He traveled through the wilderness
From frontier to country farm.
Apples were his gift to us -
His name was Appleseed John.
